The School of Law remains committed to its fundamental educational objective of developing highly qualified legal practitioners. More than 20 of its graduates have entered the legal profession and are actively demonstrating their expertise in their respective fields. The school offers coursework covering every subject tested on the bar examination, which is currently recognized as the sole qualifying examination for entry into the legal profession. To achieve its educational objective of developing professional legal practitioners, the curriculum covers not only legal theory but also practical legal studies. As enrollment in certain less popular optional subjects in the first-stage written multiple-choice examination continues to decline, the school is making comprehensive efforts to address this issue. These efforts include reviewing the subjects covered in civil service and professional qualification examinations and carefully determining which courses should be offered.

The School of Law aims to develop not only professional legal practitioners but also legal specialists who can apply their expertise in a wide range of occupational fields. Preparing students to enter graduate law school and qualify as attorneys is not the school’s only objective. The school also provides education designed to prepare students for higher civil service examinations in public administration, foreign affairs, local government, court administration, and legislative affairs, as well as open competitive recruitment examinations for Grades 7 and 9. In addition, the school continues to develop curricula that help students prepare for professional qualification examinations and careers as patent attorneys, certified labor attorneys, licensed real estate agents, certified public accountants, judicial scriveners, assistant housing managers, certified appraisers, police officers, tax accountants, court clerical officers, and Korea Coast Guard officer candidates.

Another key educational objective of the School of Law is to develop legal professionals who can contribute to the Northeast Asian era. Considering its geographical location, Incheon serves as an important gateway to China and the broader Northeast Asian region. Its strategic importance continues to grow as the center of the global economy and international trade increasingly shifts toward Asia and China. In this context, the School of Law seeks to develop leaders who can guide the advancement of Incheon and its local communities. It also aims to educate leaders who protect the rights and interests of the public and local residents, improve the productivity of the nation and its communities, and contribute to the development of a democratic society. Achieving these educational objectives is therefore a major responsibility of the school. To accomplish these goals, the School of Law has developed courses in Chinese law and other legal fields related to Northeast Asia. It also continues to broaden its curriculum and strengthen education in these areas.
