Professor Kangjoo Lee

Professor Kangjoo Lee of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Incheon National University has been awarded the Young Investigator Award by the Bioengineering Division of the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers.

This award is presented to next-generation researchers who have achieved outstanding accomplishments in the field of bioengineering. Professor Lee was recognized for his significant technological and academic contributions to stem cell-based tissue regeneration, including his study titled “Co-Electrospun Silk Fibroin and Gelatin Methacryloyl Sheet Seeded with Mesenchymal Stem Cells for Tendon Regeneration.”

In particular, his research is regarded as highly meaningful for proposing a new approach to tendon regeneration through the design of a composite nanofibrous sheet that offers both biocompatibility and mechanical stability.
