Visiting Program Overview
Unlike the exchange student program, this visiting student program is fee-paying.
Korean Language (Credit Classes) are available, and An on-campus dormitory is available for the visiting students. For more information about the visiting program, please contact the international office of your home university or International Office, INU inbound@inu.ac.kr to see if seats are available for the visiting program for the next semester.
Application Requirements
- GPA : 2.5 on a 4.5 scale (Required)
- Language Proficiency (either English or Korean)

*Or, A recommendation letter from the Home university can replace the proof of language proficiency.
*Those from native English speaking countries are exempted from fitting the language proficiency level.
Application Procedure
- The international office of your home university :
- Obtain User ID and Password for each university.
Please submit the Form (Click) or send an email (inbound@inu.ac.kr) to request the ID and Password for the Online Nomination Link.
→ The International Office of INU will send the University’s ID and PASSWORD to the International Office of your home university after submitting the Form (Click) - Access the Online Nomination/Application LINK and complete the Nomination application.
- Obtain User ID and Password for each university.
- Nominated students
Submit the required application documents (Listed below) through the Online Application LINK during the application period.
Please prepare the application documents in advance, just in case it takes time to get certain documents. This will ensure that the process goes smoothly and avoids any last-minute delays. - INU screens the application documents and issues a certificate of admission.
- Students can download the certificate of admission and other materials in the Online Application LINK to apply for the VISA.

- 6. Bank Balance Certificate (** 1 semester : $6,500 above(include tuition fee) 2 semesters: $11,000 above(include tuition fee))
- Bank Balance Certificate must be issued between 'May 1st~ May 15th(FALL) /November 1st~ November 15th(SPRING)' of the submission year.
A certificate of Family Relations is needed.(In case that only if you have a bank statement in your parent’s name) - 7. Certificate of Language Skills
- 8. High school graduation certificate (D-2-8 visa holders)*
And Chinese students must submit a certificate of enrollment issued by CHSI.

Tuition Fee
The Tuition Fee(per semester, undergraduate) for visiting students is KRW 2,557,000 ~ KRW 3,217,000(in 2024, about USD 2,000 ~ 2,500), depending on the Major.

지원절차
- 소속대학 국제교류부서에서 관련 링크(클릭)를 작성하거나 메일(inbound@inu.ac.kr)로 온라인 노미네이션을 진행하기 위한 대학의 개별 ID와 비밀번호를 요청한다. → Online FORM
- 소속대학 국제교류부서에서는 the Online Nomination Link에 접속하여 학생들의 기본정보를 입력한다.
- 선발된 학생은 본인의 필수제출 서류를 the Online Nomination Link에 업로드한다. 필수제출는 사전에 숙지하여 반드시 사전에 준비하여 일정이 차질이 없도록 한다.
- 인천대학교 국제교류원에서는 서류검토 후 입학허가서를 발급한다.
- 발급된 입학허가서를 다른 안내서류를 the Online Nomination Link에서 다운로드한다.

* Please note that the information provided may be subject to change, so please contact the NHIS first to obtain the most accurate information.
Exemption Eligibility
1) Non-Korean students who wish to use private insurance(which covers emergency and hospital bills abroad, similar to the NHIS coverage plan, and has to be from a foreign insurance company) as an alternative to national insurance may apply for a waiver of the national health insurance requirement.
2) Students from France and Japan are eligible for the exemption from NHIS due to provisions between governments and insurance policies.
Application Process for Exemption
To apply for the waiver, we recommend that you contact the NHIS by calling 033-811-2000 (NHIS Call center, Available Languages: English, Chinese) first and prepare the necessary documents.
You must then visit the local NHIS Office to apply for the health insurance waiver by providing the following documents
1. Alien Registration Card
2. Application for NHI Waiver(Attached)
3. Insurance Policy Summary(Attached)
4. A photocopy of your insurance policy in English and Korean *
* Please contact your insurance provider to receive a Korean version of your insurance policy.
If a Korean version is unavailable, you may provide an English version with key information translated into Korean, such as the coverage limit, valid dates of your insurance, and the insurance company's name.
Notarization is not required. The NHIS may ask you to provide additional translation if necessary.

Please note that you cannot apply for this exemption until you have registered with Immigration and have a residence number.
Also, please be advised that even if you submit an application for exemption to the NHIS, it may not be approved.
