Incheon National University announced that Park Jong-tae, president of Incheon National University, won the "2024 Korea Service Award in the Second Half of 2024" at the "2024 7th United Nations Volunteer Corps President Inauguration Ceremony and Sponsorship Night" held from 5:30 p.m. on the 19th.

Founded in 1971, the Korea United Nations Volunteer Corps is a 50-year-old social service organization that practices peace, development, and human rights, the three core values of the UN, and conducts various welfare projects to spread the culture of service and sharing. Since 2010, under the theme of "Service is the Most Beautiful Practice in the World," hidden volunteers from various fields of our society have been awarded every year. At the award ceremony, Yoo Joon-sang, the 7th president, and Ahn Heon-sik, the chairman of the board, presented the award. 

Since taking office in May 2021, Park Jong-tae, president of Incheon National University, has promoted the activities of the Student Self-Governing Volunteer Corps by establishing a stable human and organizational infrastructure for social contribution to the university. By supporting the activities of the student self-governing non-profit organization Sipseilbop, he has contributed to the selection of the University of Excellence in the First Half of 2023 as an excellent university. In addition, in cooperation with the local community, he actively promoted educational donation activities for underprivileged students through mentoring programs using the excellent resources of the university and educational camp volunteer activities during vacation. In addition, he was awarded the award in recognition of his achievements in promoting various volunteer activities such as education, volunteer work, and cultural exchange through overseas volunteer work of the Global Social Contribution Group, including the sharing of kimchi with love, plogging on campus, environmental preservation, and purification activities. 

President Park said, "As the president of Incheon National University, we will fulfill our responsibilities as a base national university that contributes to fostering social contribution-type talents by using the resources of the university by communicating closely with the local community, especially the underprivileged."
