The Neulbom School of the RISE Project Group at Incheon National University (Lead Professor: Ki-soon Han, Department of Creativity Development) announced that it successfully held the “Children’s Neulbom Playground” on May 5 at the outdoor plaza of Incheon Technopark in celebration of Children’s Day.

The event included cultural programs such as a magic show, balloon art show, and Nanta performance. In addition, 29 Neulbom program booths, three special booths, and one invited program booth were operated. Various activities were conducted during the event.

The “World Traditional Games Explorer” booth allowed children to experience traditional games from Korea, China, and Japan, featuring activities such as jegichagi (Korean shuttlecock kicking), plate spinning, and kendama games. Meanwhile, the “Move Science” booth attracted significant attention with its hula hoop competition. Children also actively participated in a stamp-collecting challenge by visiting multiple activity booths, and participants who completed three booths received opportunities to experience VR activities and drone soccer, further enhancing overall satisfaction.

A cumulative total of 3,340 children participated in the program booths. Overall satisfaction recorded a high score of 4.49 out of 5, while 86% of respondents indicated that participation increased their interest in the Neulbom School initiative, suggesting that the event contributed positively to awareness and perception of the program.

One parent who attended the event commented, “I was impressed by how professionally the instructors interacted with the children. It truly felt like the Neulbom teachers deeply understood children.” The parent also added, “Compared to other children’s events, this one felt much more complete and engaging. The children became so immersed that they did not want to leave,” leading to inquiries about future programs.

Lead Professor Ki-soon Han stated, “Seeing children freely run, laugh, and enjoy themselves reaffirmed the significance of this event,” adding, “We will continue expanding diverse programs so children can experience both learning and enjoyment together.”

The “Children’s Neulbom Playground” was designed not merely as a recreational event but as an educational festival combining learning and care through direct experiences. It is being recognized as an exemplary case of sharing university educational resources with the local community.

Supported by funding from Incheon Metropolitan City, the INU RISE Project Group Neulbom School will continue operating the initiative during the 2026 academic year and plans to further expand education and care models connected to local communities.
