Incheon National University (President Park Jong-tae) signed an MOU with Incheon Metropolitan City (Global Urban Affairs Deputy Mayor Hwang Hyo-jin) and CJ CheilJedang (management leader Rajesh Potineni) at the video conference room of Incheon National University on the 14th.
Through this agreement, each institution decided to establish a practical partnership for joint research on the development of marine and fisheries in Incheon and the industrialization of seaweed (such as laver).
The main contents of the agreement included ▲ joint efforts to develop marine fisheries and foster human resources in Incheon suitable for regional characteristics ▲ joint research on land farming and industrialization of laver ▲ joint consortium construction of national competition projects for year-round production of laver seeds ▲ joint research for development of laver seeds and commercialization of laver seeds ▲ mutual research of high-quality laver seeds for commercialization of laver.
Park Jong-tae, president of Incheon National University, said, "With this agreement, we hope that each institution and company will join forces to achieve various studies and achievements on the development of the marine and fisheries industry and the development of seaweed varieties. In particular, we hope that Korean seaweed can become a food that can dominate the global market competition through the development of seaweed cultivation varieties and the spread of commercialization."
According to the business agreement, Incheon National University, Incheon Metropolitan City, and CJ Cheiljedang will work together to advance and commercialize seaweed farming technology and promote the growth of the marine and fisheries industries by maintaining an organic cooperation system in education, research, and industry.
